TEMPTU for Helmut Lang Spring 2012

September 12, 2011  |  Backstage with TEMPTU

Sporty chic was the theme backstage at Helmut Lang’s first runway show with Nicole and Michael Colovos at the helm. Both the hair and makeup were designed to complement the clothes and maintain the distinct Helmut Lang aesthetic. With neutral colors, a light creamy lip, hydrated skin, and just a touch of “sunset glow” highlighter on the cheeks, this “out of the shower-esque” look is a fresh update to the no makeup look.

“This isn’t a concept look, this is something that you can really just do — throw on your favorite outfit and walk out the door ready for the entire day,” said Key makeup artist Lisa Butler. “I wanted to create a rugged and edgy, yet wearable complexion with fresh dewy skin and a forward, almost aggressive eye.” To create her “aggressive eye” Butler applied a blonde shadow from the eyelids up into the brows. “It’s making the eyebrow more of an accessory—make them the color you want them to be,” stated TEMPTU Lead Global Artist Cory Bishop.

BASE Smooth & Matte Primer to prime and perfect skin tone.
Undereye Concealer to conceal dark circles and brighten under the eyes.
AIR pod Foundation to achieve that flawless complexion.

NEW AIR pod Brow in Blonde and the Full Natural Arch Brow Stencil (launching in 2012) to shape the brows. This color was also used as a light wash over the eye from the brow to the lash line. Finally the lash live was intensified by using the Custom Shaper Brow Stencil to get closer to the eye and maintain more control over the spray.

TEMPTU AIR pod Highlighter in Sunset Glow applied to the cheeks to make the complexion balanced and warm.

• NEW Color Concentrate Lip Color
(launching in 2012) to create a warm nude, yet hydrated finish.

AIR pod HIGHLIGHTER in Champagne applied to the arms, legs and décolleté to carry through the high sheen on the face.
