TEMPTU at Oscars 2014
Last night at the 86th Academy Awards, the red carpet dazzled with Hollywood’s A-listers looking their very best–from head to toe. Among the stunning red carpet looks, our “Oscar” for the best red carpet makeup goes to Emmy Rossum. (Okay, we’re a bit biased.)

The famed celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker created a glowing, flawless red carpet look for Emmy inspired by her blush tone, beaded Monique Lhuillier dress. Jo said, “We wanted to create a look with a glowing shimmering skin, with an iridescent luminous quality to it. Sculpted eyes, radiant skin with a deep berry stain on the lip.” Emmy totally glowed with TEMPTU! Wouldn’t you agree?
How Jo created the glowing red carpet look you can create at home:
- Mix It Up: After prepping Emmy’s skin with a good moisturizer–key as a great base for airbrushing–Jo gradually built up three layers, one by one, lightly with TEMPTU Foundation. “The ability to actually create one’s skin color, in such a silky finish is a complete dream. Emmy absolutely loved it,” Jo told us. Emmy’s luminous foundation shade was created by mixing three different shades, Warm Ivory, Sand and Warm Beige towards the edges of her skin.
- Highlighter Magic: Apply TEMPTU AIRPod Highlighter in Champagne across the cheekbones, creating an “almost fantasy-like finish” on your skin, like on Emmy. Jo said this is “really the cherry on top of creating a romantic finish-and if you have a porcelain-like skin like Emmy’s, paler colors should definitely be in your makeup arsenal.”
