There is nothing like being backstage at fashion show. Models are running around from makeup to hair to nails getting glammed for the show. Bloggers, magazine editors, photographers, and videographers are all trying to capture the key makeup artist creating and explaining the look. All during all of this the clothes are being styled, photographed, and finally thrown on a model and sent down the runway.
Flawless skin, dramatic eyes, and mile long lashes dominated backstage at GUiSHEM’s Spring 2012 presentation on Sunday. “The Guishem collection is full of dramatic lines I wanted the eyes to match that feel,” said key makeup artist and TEMPTU Lead Global Artist Cory Bishop. “The look is a nod to the 60’s with a red carpet feel that paired perfectly with the glamorous gowns in the collection.”
Sporty chic was the theme backstage at Helmut Lang’s first runway show with Nicole and Michael Colovos at the helm. Both the hair and makeup were designed to complement the clothes and maintain the distinct Helmut Lang aesthetic. With neutral colors, a light creamy lip, hydrated skin, and just a touch of “sunset glow” highlighter on the cheeks, this “out of the shower-esque” look is a fresh update to the no makeup look.
The Spring/ Summer 2009 Trovata collection was a mix between preppy sophistication and laid back California style. Temptu’s Key Makeup Artist, JP McCary, and the Temptu team gave the models flawless skin with pops of color to compliment the clothing.
