It’s a sunny day, and you’re in the best mood. Your convertible top is down, the wind is blowing in your hair, and you’re feeling gorgeous today…except for the fact that you forgot to coat mascara onto those ultra lengthy lashes of yours. Luckily, you have your go-to lash lengthener sitting in your purse on the passenger’s seat. You whip out that saving-grace cosmetic, begin tracing your lashes in a meticulous manner, being sure to take your eyes off the road for just one second, then BAM…you just rear-ended the red 1960s Mercedes in front of you at a stoplight. WOOPS!!
Sounds familiar, eh?! Well, it turns out that dangerous beauty is on the rise with women, especially. In one recent survey released by women’s auto insurance provider Diamond, 4,000 women were questioned about their driving habits. Primping emerged as a common habit, with 27 percent of women ‘fessing up to touching up their makeup while driving. We’ve even had requests to come out with a car adapter for our AIRbrush Makeup System. AIRbrushing while driving seems like it would fall into the dangerous beauty category. Men, surprisingly, are just as guilty; some have admitted shaving and even miraculously changing their clothes while driving.
The primary question that emerges from this issue is this: would you give up your own safety for the price of beauty? Would you want to give up your safety for the price of someone else’s beauty? We want to hear your thoughts in the comment section below. Are you one of the many women (or men) who are beauty-crazed in the car?
